The Carolina Hurricanes' Andrei Svechnikov just learned that the hard way.

It was Ovechkin's first fight since December 12, 2010 when he got involved with Brandon Dubinsky.

The Hurricanes later announced that Svechnikov wouldn't return to the game due to an upper-body injury. Ovechkin was handed a five-minute fighting major. Washington has a 2-0 series lead. For Svechnikov, the No. 2 pick in last year's draft who helped lead the 'Canes back into the postseason, it was his first in the big leagues.
