YouTube star Lily Singh to host daily late-night show on NBC

Lilly Singh is taking over Carson Daly's slot for her own late night show, Variety confirms.

As a guest on Thursday night's Tonight Show, Singh shares the good news with fellow NBC late-night hosts Jimmy Fallon and Seth Meyers.

Daly had already announced his exit in February, saying: "If you had told me in 2002 I would be a part of the historic NBC late-night family for 17 years, I would have said you were insane!".

Singh's announcement that she will be joining the male-dominated late-night host circuit is definitely a sign of progress. "I'm so excited because I truly get to create a show from scratch", she gushed on Thursday's show.

Now the 30-year old comedian, who is also known as Superwoman, is set to join the late night arena with her very own show on NBC: A Little Late With Lilly Singh.

Singh made her YouTube debut in 2010, posting comedic and inspirational.

The Peacock network announced last month that "Last Call with Carson Daly" would end its run after 17 years and 2000 episodes. "I'm thrilled to bring it to life on NBC, and I hope m parents consider this to be as exciting as a grandchild".

Singh also shared the news on Instagram writing, "I can't even believe I am writing this caption".

"✅ Female ✅ Coloured ✅ Bisexual ••• Throughout my life these have proven to be obstacles from time to time". She kicked off her YouTube career in 2010 under the pseudonym "IISuperwomanII" and has since grown to become one of the platform's most successful stars, earning a reported $10.5 million in 2017. As an actress, she appeared in HBO's Fahrenheit 451, opposite Michael Shannon and Michael B. Jordan, and has co-starred in Bad Moms and Ice Age: Collision Course. But now I'm fully embracing them as my superpowers.
