The Netflix Doco On Maddie McCann Makes Claim That She's Still Alive

Netflix has JUST dropped the trailer for its Madeleine McCann documentary

According to the BBC, however, many United Kingdom investigators and journalists close to the case, including Madeleine's parents Gerry and Kate McCann, refused to take part in the documentary, and Netflix was forced to push the release of a trailer back several weeks.

McCann was aged three when she vanished during a family holiday in Praia da Luz on the Algarve in Portugal in May 2007. Filmmakers drew on new interviews with more than 40 contributors, 120 hours of interviews, archival news footage, and reenactments to put together the series.

Madeleine's parents Kate and Gerry McCann have refused to take part in the series.

A top child protection cop insists the 12-year mystery of missing Madeleine McCann will be solved.

The new film, The Disappearance of Madeleine McCann, has been slammed by Gerry, 50, and Kate McCann, 51, who believe it could hinder ongoing efforts to locate their missing child - who would be turning 16 this year.

"Madeleine's Fund", which Kate and Gerry set up to raise money for the investigation, has been supported by a number of celebrities including Philip Green, Simon Cowell, Coleen Rooney, J.K. Rowling, and Richard Branson.

People across the United Kingdom grieved the disappearance of the small girl after she vanished in May 2007. In addition to looking in to the facts of Madeleine's disappearance, the show also examines the way the case was treated in the media.

A Netflix documentary about the disappearance of Madeleine McCann will feature interviews with Jim Gamble QPM, from Bangor, Co Down, one of the UK's most experienced and outspoken experts on the safeguarding of children online. He claimed the McCanns covered it up.

We are aware that Netflix are planning to screen a documentary in March 2019 about Madeleine's disappearance.

Mr and Mrs McCann previously said in a statement: "The production company told us that they were making the documentary and asked us to participate".

The documentary comes out on Friday 15 March, so for all those true-crime fans, it will definitely be one to mark in your diaries. They also confirmed, "Our views and preferences are not reflected in the programme".
