Slack Rolls out Dark Mode for IOS, Android Users

Slack Is Testing out a Dark Mode to iOS and Android Users

Slack's Dark mode on iOS and Android is not exactly true dark since it uses a dark grey background instead of a black one.

Open the Slack app on your phone. Perhaps, the company can offer a darker version of the icon for users who have a darker home screen. Keep reading to learn more details about this feature finally coming to the app and how you can test it out right now.

In case you've not received an app update in the Play Store, head to APKMirror to install this version of the app to get the dark mode.

That is if you are a beta tester. Once you tap it, you need to provide your email address and name.

Once your request to join the beta program has been approved, update your app and restart. From there, you can enable the dark mode in the settings. Just scroll down toward the bottom, and you'll see the "Dark Mode" entry. Hopefully, we'll see this feature soon. Dark mode works in most parts of the workplace collaboration app, which is really cool.

One downside is that it does not impact the Slack room color palettes.

Some programs on Windows have their own dark modes which you can control on their own.

Whatever be the reason, the good news is that a host of other popular apps have either joined the bandwagon or are in the process of doing so. If you have used Facebook Messenger recently, then you know how dark mode was just released as a hidden feature. That said, there still is a way to get something similar if not the dark mode itself.

Now, choose any one option - Light, Dark, or Follow night mode.

Dark mode switches the interface to a darker colour theme, which makes prolonged usage easier on the eyes. Along with being easier on the ol' peepers, this should also prove beneficial to your device's battery life.

Instead of dark black color Slack chose to use a dark grey color for the app's dark mode update. Once you have tried the new dark mode in Slack for yourself, we want to know what you think about it.
