The competition also focuses on delivering solid alternatives, and many people have already admired the Mate X presented by Huawei at the Mobile World Congress.

The Galaxy S10 series of phones are powered by Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 855 processor (in the US) or Samsung's in-house Exynos 9820 (other markets).

According to Samsung's executive vice-president of R&D, Eui-suk Chung, the Galaxy Fold's in-folding design has several key advantages over the Mate X's out-folding form factor.

Kuo expects users to choose the Samsung Galaxy S10 phone over the 2018 iPhones for the ultrasonic fingerprint reader, the triple camera setup on the back and the two-way wireless charging.

Samsung is hard at work on a pair of new foldable smartphones to launch after the Galaxy Fold later this year, according to Bloomberg. It will be thinner because it has no extra screen, they said.

As to the Galaxy Fold, Samsung is considering publicizing free maintenance measures to owners in order to extend the useful life of the new device, including screen replacement.

It also solves one of the bigger pains for the Galaxy S8 and S9 - the awkward fingerprint-sensor placement. Bloomberg's sources said it would come after the clamshell device.

The Galaxy S10 series would hit the store shelves on March 8, when you'll be able to buy the devices from online and offline stores.

Samsung Galaxy Fold has two screens, a 4.6-inch HD+ Super AMOLED (21:9) cover display on the front and a 7.3-inch QXGA+ Dynamic AMOLED tablet screen with 4.2:3 aspect ratio when the phone is unfolded.

Global analysts are not very positive about the future of the smartphone industry, but Samsung is confident about its growth in the region.

The teardown also reveals that Samsung focused a lot more on preventing overheating, so it used various approaches to make sure all the heat is eliminated quickly. So much so that analyst Ming-Chi Kuo's shipment estimates for the Galaxy S10 series has now been increased by 30%.

Samsung spent eight years developing the Galaxy Fold and has worked with Google to adapt the Android operating system for a foldable screen.
