NVIDIA's GTX 1660 lowers the high-performance gaming price barrier

Nvidia's Ge Force GTX 1660 is available right now for £199

The GeForce GTX 1660 GPU leverages the impressive raster performance of the Turing architecture to provide an ideal foundation for AAA 1080p gaming, or a plugand-play upgrade for aging systems.

Just like the GTX 1660 Ti, the new GTX 1660 is also equipped with TU116 GPU which is created to provide a balance between performance, power consumption, and cost. These new graphics cards follow on the heels of the recently announced GTX 1660 Ti, bringing even more competitive graphics card options for gamers. The GTX 1660 boasts 1,408 CUDA cores, 6GB of GDDR5 RAM at 8Gbps, and a boost clock speed of 1.8GHz.

Both cards have a TDP of 120W and can be powered from a single 8-pin connector.

We were informed that GTX 1660 will be made available through NVIDIA GeForce Official Store on Lazada Malaysia soon as well. That said, the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 India price starts at Rs. 21,500 with a release date of March 14.

The Phoenix GeForce GTX 1660 has one large 100mm fan that's packed full of technology to increase durability and performance while maintaining a small footprint. Against Steam's most popular card, the GeForce GTX 1060, the company says the GeForce GTX 1660 is: "on average 30% faster than the GeForce GTX 1060 3GB and 15% faster than the GeForce GTX 1060 6GB at 1080p resolution". Fret not though, plenty of NVIDIA add-in board partners have come out with their own take on GTX 1660 including ASUS, Colorful, EVGA, Gainward, GIGABYTE, Inno3d, MSI, Palit, and ZOTAC.
