The Miami Dolphins traded Ryan Tannehill to the Tennessee Titans on Friday afternoon, severely shaking up the quarterback situation in Tennessee and leaving us wondering what is happening in Miami.
The Titans' current quarterback is the oft-injured Marcus Mariota, the former second-overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft.
Miami will get a 2020 fourth round pick and a seventh round pick in this year's draft in exchange for Tannehill. He had a wildly uneven season a year ago that ended badly.
A 6-foot-4, 207-pounder, Tannehill also has 1,210 rushing yards and six touchdowns in his career. Teams who are contenders are looking to add big-time talent to their team, while those who feel like they don't have a shot are offloading their talent in hopes of getting a better draft pick next season. He did not play in 2017 due to injury. Tannehill was named the team's Ed Block Courage Award recipient in 2018 and the Dan Marino Team MVP in 2014. Tannehill holds two of the team's top five single-season passer ratings marks. He became the Dolphins' starting quarterback as a rookie in 2012 and has still never taken a postseason snap.
