Dark mode for Google Chrome is finally out on Mac

Chrome 73 with new Dark Mode now available to all

Google Chrome 73 is now available for download for GNU/Linux, macOS, and Windows from our web portal. These themes changed the color of the menu bars and interface along with the default Google search home page. Chrome 73's dark mode on Mac looks quite similar to the browser's native incognito mode.

After Google released the Chrome 73 update, we received many emails from our readers on how they can download Chrome 73 or update their current Google Chrome browser to Chrome 73.

Google promoted the Chrome 73 web browser today to the stable channel for all supported platforms, including GNU/Linux, Windows, and macOS, and it's now rolling out to all users via OTA updates.

As for Chrome 73 on Android, it brings the ability to view content on the Dino page, which means users can browse through suggested articles even when they are offline.

When a phone has a particular problem loading a web page, the Lite version is shown instead, and Chrome displays a notification in the URL bar to let users know. However, that said, there is an unofficial work around to get a dark mode of sorts on Windows 10: How To Enable Chrome Dark Mode In Windows 10. Fortunately, Chrome 73 has no such issues; you can visit sites like Facebook, Twitter and others and each webpage will still appear in a complete dark mode.

Once done, Chrome will automatically change colors as long as you have the latest version installed. The update will also include a redesigned download history page that lets users filter their download history by file type. Also, Chrome 73 finally supports Progressive Web Apps on Mac.

The Android and Chrome OS versions of Chrome 73 are also expected to launch soon, though you can check out the new features early by downloading the Chrome beta.

Making matters more confusing, some have reported that dark mode turns on when battery savings features are activated.
