Conor McGregor faces civil lawsuit after alleged cell phone robbery in Miami

Conor Mc Gregor is now facing a civil suit in addition to criminal charges from a Miami nightclub incident

A video has surfaced that shows the MMA star stomping on a fan's phone during an altercation outside a Miami nightclub that got him arrested after the fan accused him of taking and smashing his phone when he went in for a handshake.

Chiesa then sued McGregor in court seeking damages for his injuries as well as missed opportunities suffered after he was unable to compete that weekend and a late notice title shot he believed would have gone to him on that same card had he not been unable to fight.

The entire incident unfolded earlier this week when McGregor was leaving the Fontainebleau Hotel in Miami around 5 a.m. Monday morning when Abdirzak claims he was trying to snap a photo of the famous Irishman.

McGregor was recently released from jail after being arrested and charged with robbery and criminal damage in Miami. McGregor then allegedly picked up the phone and left with it.

And in the footage doing the rounds, McGregor can be seen stomping on the phone with his designers but the thunderous thud of him stepping on it can also be heard very, very loudly.

Conor McGregor is heading back to the courtroom.

McGregor was arrested the evening of the alleged incident and taken to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. He has since been released on a $12,500 bond, and he will return to court for an arraignment on April 10.

If convicted of the charges he faces, McGregor could face up to 15 years in prison, as "strong-armed robbery" is a second degree felony carrying a hefty maximum sentence.

"Our office is in receipt of the civil lawsuit filed today, which is nothing more than a quick effort seeking a payday", Rabin said.
