Akash Ambani and Shloka Mehta get married in a star-studded event

The wedding celebrations of Akash, who is tying the knot with Shloka Mehta, daughter of billionaire diamantaire Russell Mehta and Mona Mehta, kickstarted from March 9; although the preparations have been going on since a year.

Global celebrities including film stars, company executives, politicians and sports personalities descended on Mumbai yesterday for the wedding celebrations of the son of India's wealthiest man and Reliance Industries boss, Mukesh Ambani.

Akash's sister Isha and her husband Anand Piramal, along with Piramal Group chairman Ajay Piramal and his wife Swati will be a part of the gala, where Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and his wife Amruta, Railway Minister Piyush Goyal, Commerce Minister Suresh Prabhu and former Commerce Minister Anand Sharma will also be present.

Indian stars Shah Rukh Khan and Ranbir Kapoor were seen dancing with the bridegroom Akash Ambani and plenty of Indians shared photos on social media with #AkashAmbani and #AkashShlokaWedding among the top trending hashtags in India.

Aishwarya Rai, Abhishek Bachchan and Aaradhya at the wedding. Apart from Blair, the wedding is also expected to host former Ban Ki-Moon and his wife, Google CEO Sundar Pichai and his wife Anjali Pichai, and cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar and his wife Anjali.

Shloka and Akash are both fans of Maroon 5, and the band played a 40 minutes set during the sangeet which included their favorite songs, Sugar, Move Like Jagger and more of their chartbuster hits like She Will Be Loved, Makes Me Wonder and One More Night.
