Woman who threw chair from Toronto condo balcony turns herself in

What We Know So Far About Marcella Zoia 19 Charged In The Toronto Chair Throwing Incident featured image

A woman is in custody after being accused of throwing a chair off of a high-rise apartment balcony on the morning of February 9 in Toronto.

He added the media put her under a microscope for three days, saying she's embarrassed and has endured a "traumatic experience".

Leslie said she understands the public outage.

Police said Zoia threw two chairs and other items off the balcony and was charged with endangering life, mischief endangering property, and common nuisance in court Wednesday.

The chairs landed near the front entrance of the towering condo, but there were no reports of injuries.

Police said they will not release her name until charges are laid.

Zoia reportedly turned herself in early Wednesday morning.

Zoia was released on a consent bail of $2,000 and was ordered to live with her mother Maria, a cleaner, at her Harding Ave. home. She must also not have any contact with the four people who were with her at the time.

After the video went viral, police asked the woman in the footage to surrender.

Toronto police spokesperson David Hopkinson said on Monday he was "outraged" at the incident.

Luckily, no one was hurt, despite the evident stupidity and blatant disregard for others that we see in this video. "We are investigating whether any Airbnb guests were involved and we will be suspending any guest accounts that appear to be connected to this incident". "This is irresponsible behaviour that is unacceptable", Toronto Mayor John Tory said.

'I just hope that people take from the example the consequences that will befall this woman.

This is not amusing, I hope she gets caught!???? He added, "This could have caused death or injury and is not acceptable".
