Velveteen Dream Wins NXT North American Championship From Johnny Gargano

BREAKING Velveteen Dream Wins NXT North American Championship 0By Tom Clark on Feb 20 2019WWE

The latest set of NXT TV tapings took place last night with a couple of big WrestleMania season rivalries seemingly set up.

Prior to WWE Raw this week, it was announced that NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa, NXT North American Champion Johnny Gargano, Aleister Black and Ricochet were all backstage at Raw.

The following report contains SPOILERS for upcoming episodes of WWE NXT television, which will begin rolling out next Wednesday, February 27th.

Both stars continued the contest with Ciampa and Gargano eventually going over.

Brock Lesnar may seem like an odd choice for a dream match with Johnny Gargano, but for the sake of variety, it would be fascinating to see the two men square off for a number of reasons.

- Johnny Gargano came out and talked about showing the entire world what NXT is all about when debuting on RAW and Smackdown Live. Dream says he's the champion now and he's the only one with a spotlight on him in NXT. Cole cut a post-match promo ripping on NXT North American Champion The Velveteen Dream. They brought the WWE Women's Tag Team Titles to NXT to share with everyone because they never forget where they come from.

Adam Cole defeats Punishment Martinez - Cole then says that he is the first-ever North American Champion but has yet to receive his one-on-one rematch. Dream comes out and smacks Cole in the face.

Lesnar's chemistry with the likes of CM Punk, AJ Styles and Daniel Bryan has produced some of the best PPV matches in recent years, and there is nothing to suggest that Gargano couldn't get a similar performance out of The Beast Incarnate.

The final sight is of Johnny hinting that he's coming after the NXT title before posing with Candice.
