Mitsubishi ASX unveiled before debut in Geneva

Mitsubishi ASX

The Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross might be the new hotness as far as Mitsu's SUVs are concerned in the United States, but the Outlander Sport is still kickin'.

Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) will globally unveil the 2020 model year ASXcompact SUV (RVR or Outlander Sport in some markets) at the 89 Geneva International Motor Show to be held March 5-17. Considering the ASX is also sold in the United States as the Outlander Sport, what you see here will land in the USA later this year, according to a quick chat with a Mitsubishi spokesperson.

Mitsubishi says that the exterior of the Outlander Sport has gone through a significant overhaul. The current model can be had with either front- or all-wheel drive, with just a CVT on all-wheel drive models, and an available manual on front-driver versions.

The ASX also delivers reassurance and safety, with features including the RISE impact safety body and a Forward Collision Mitigation (FCM) braking system.

The most notable revision is at the front, where the ASX gets a new face that better follows its latest "Dynamic Shield" philosophy.

Outlander Sport buyers get LED rear combination lamps, except turn signals, that stretch across the entire rear of the vehicle.

Mitsubishi has previewed the refreshed 2020 Outlander Sport, due to make its global debut next month in Geneva.

There's also three new colours to choose from - Red Diamond, Sunshine Orange and Oak Brown. It also has the ability to play videos from a USB flash memory stick when the vehicle is parked. Real-time traffic information can now be accessed by connecting to the internet using a smartphone.
