Kevin Durant elaborates on heated exchange with media

Report: Raptors were on Porzingis' wish list

In explaining last week's tirade at a postgame press conference, the Warriors forward said he believes team beat writers have gone "behind [his] back", by writing that the Knicks' trade of Kristaps Porzingis may foreshadow the two-time NBA Finals MVP leaving Golden State for NY.

And the Knicks made headlines again today when they removed a picture featuring Durant from an advertisement to season-ticket holders.

"Game action photos are used all the time for marketing purposes", the statement read. "To be clear, it was one of several rotating photos on the website", according to the statement.

NY hinted at their plans this offseason by trading Kristaps Porzingis, Tim Hardaway Jr. and Courtney Lee to the Dallas Mavericks.

Durant had gone more than a week without speaking to the team's beat writers prior to his outburst.

"As a player, knowing I have to talk to media, if I get an opportunity to talk to media, I want to give the fans my perspective on the game, not about business", Durant told Mike Greenberg on Get Up.

The photo was part of a pitch to season-ticket holders to renew their packages for the 2019-20 season.

He added: "In the words of KD to NY, "grow up". Kevin Durant, for example, could be one of those free agents. A sales representative for the team was sacked, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, with the Hawks saying in a statement that the man's "specific reference" did not "represent how our basketball operations or our business staff have consistently communicated about free agency".
