Entertainment Nickelodeon reviving sketch-comedy series 'All That'

All That Nickelodeon Nostalgia'90s Nostalgia

What are your thoughts on the hit comedy show making a comeback? Thompson must be feeling the same sense of nostalgia the rest of us have for old-school Nickelodeon, because he's just been hired to executive produce a reboot of All That.

Variety writes that Thompson is now attached to the All That reboot as an executive producer, and it's also likely that he could come back to play old characters along with his former cast members. Variety is announcing that Nickelodeon will be bringing back the sketch comedy series All That. "We have a new creative team in place and a renewed energy that we're harnessing to bring the buzz back to Nick". He told Variety he isn't giving up his gig at SNL, but will still be involved in establishing the show's tone.

Oh, and speaking of the Saturday Night Live star... The show's "Good Burger" sketch became so popular it inspired the 1997 Good Burger film, which grossed $23.7 million. Fans of the show may remember characters like Josh Server's dimwitted investigator Detective Dan, Lori Beth Denberg's obnoxiously loud Loud Librarian, Kel Mitchell's destructive fixer-upper Repairman, and Kenan Thompson's Baggin' Saggin' Barry with his sagging pants. The best part is, they're bringing the fam back together again. All That ran from 1994 to 2005, launching the careers of several young actors and actresses, notably Amanda Bynes and Kenan Thompson.

In a move that's sure to excite fans who grew up with the series, the plan is to recruit some original cast members to help introduce All That to the next generation of viewers.

President of Nickelodeon, Brian Robbins, is also excited for the revival, saying the show "stayed in the zeitgeist for many years".
