Bill Cosby: 'Prison is an amazing experience'

Cosby Amazing

Bill Cosby has a unique perspective of his time in prison so far: He's calling it "amazing".

"Despite the circumstances, he said this is an incredible experience", Wyatt told NBC 10 Philadelphia in a series of interviews published this week.

According to CNN, Cosby was moved to general population two weeks ago and is now in a single cell without a cellmate, said Amy Worden, press secretary for the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections. "He's not remorseful because he did nothing wrong".

Cosby rose to fame in the 1960s as the first black actor to star in a prime-time television drama with the hit show I Spy. But Wyatt says Mr. Cosby prefers it to receive little to no visitors.

Cosby, 81, also noted that his cell at SCI Phoenix, the prison outside Philadelphia where he is serving his sentence, "resembles the quarters of some of the Greatest Political Prisoners - Martin Luther King Jr., Mahatma Gandhi, Nelson Mandela, Randal Robinson, and Dr. Benjamin Chavis".

Perhaps that attitude stems from Cosby's belief that he is a political prisoner.

Much of that interview was devoted to what Wyatt and Cosby's publicist Ebonee Benson see as an unjust arrest and conviction that would have never occurred were Cosby not black. "When I visit him, it's nothing sad about it", he said. The Truth is Strong!' "It's helping him to be more creative, and when he gets out, he plans to write about it", Wyatt said in a phone interview Tuesday. He wakes up at 3:30 do pushups and situps in his cell before breakfast.

Bill Cosby is apparently having the time of his life in prison.

Wyatt also confirmed that Cosby's wife and children haven't yet visited him in prison. "He does not want her to visit him".

As to the MLK comparison, man, we just don't have words.

'He has been able to speak with other inmates about their situation and impart advice, ' said Wyatt. "I was given a deal; I settled out of court for $3.8 million dollars; I waived my 5th amendment rights; I was declared Not Guilty in 2005 by the Commonwealth - never charged", he said.
