Sevilla coach Machin says landing Morata would be 'blessing'

Now, Spanish football journalist Balague has revealed that both Atletico Madrid and Sevilla are in the running to land Morata - who signed for Chelsea FC in 2017 - this month. Five things to know...

The Spaniard has again failed to become a certain starter at Chelsea this season and with Sarri wanting a new striker, it is clear Morata does not enjoy the confidence of the manager.

Therefore, according to Sky Sports, the club is starting to give more consideration to Callum Wilson, a player who has scored nine Premier League goals this season and made his England debut.

And Caparros has admitted he would like to take Morata to Sevilla.

Goal claims the out-of-favour Chelsea striker has held talks with the Spanish giants over a loan deal while his other options dally.

"I don't speak about players that aren't with us, only those that are".

Morata is now widely expected to leave Chelsea this month and few of his teammates will miss him, with his "meek attitude" becoming a source of frustration among his teammates.

Could Diego Costa play a role in Morata's exit?

Simeone sees him as someone who can improve his team's attack, with former Chelsea man Diego Costa now struggling with injury problems.

"Diego Costa would absolutely transform Chelsea's fortunes and, if it was down to me, I'd break the bank to re-sign him", Crouch wrote of the Spanish striker, who is now sidelined following foot surgery.

"Right now, we are the players who are here and we shouldn't be thinking about players from elsewhere".

Instead, Costa and Morata could be lining up alongside one another in Spain during the second half of the season, if reports are to be believed.
