This week, protesters held a march in front of a studio allegedly connected to R. Kelly.

"In order to have an investigation. we have to have victims and witnesses who are willing to come forth with whatever information that they have", Foxx said.

Savage told the officer that Mason had called him around 3:10 p.m. on May 23 and said, "I'm gonna do harm to you and your family, when I see you I'm gonna get you, I'm gonna (expletive) kill you".

The New York Times reports that investigators from the Fulton County District Attorney's Office in Georgia contacted Gerald A. Griggs, the lawyer for Timothy and Jonjelyn Savage, on Monday.

Timothy and Jonjelyn claim the singer is holding their daughter, Joycelyn Savage, against her will.

"Please come forward. There is nothing that can be done to investigate these allegations without the cooperation of victims and witnesses", Foxx said. With an immeasurable amount of headlines covering the 52-year-old singer's alleged three-decades worth of crimes against teenage girls and young women, one of his former collaborators suggested people need to move on from the Robert Kelly accusations.

- In the midst of calls for investigations into allegations against singer R. Kelly, the Chicago-based attorney for the musician broke his silence Wednesday evening defending his client.

A video resurfaced last week of Kelly claiming that the #MuteRKelly movement is "too late" and that they should have "done this shit 30 years ago".

Foxx said that as a survivor of sexual assault herself, she was "sickened by the allegations".

Foxx stated that her office has been in contact with Chicago police, who say that they have performed wellness checks at various locations linked to Kelly.

Savage and his wife have said repeatedly that Kelly has kept their daughter from contacting them since 2016.

"Who makes their assessment of the evidence based on reality TV?" he said.

An attorney for Kelly did not immediately respond to TIME's request for comment.

The Associated Press reported that in 2008, a Cook County jury acquitted Kelly on 14 counts of child pornography after he was accused of engaging in sex acts with a girl as young as 13.
