Kyler Murray Has Officially Declared For The 2019 NFL Draft

Kyler Murray

Kyler Murray is seen by most as first-round NFL Draft material although his height may be a disadvantage. That means, somewhat miraculously, the Dolphins would pass on Murray, the dynamic 5-foot-10ish Heisman Trophy victor.

But Murray's star performances at quarterback have led to a host of plaudits, and the 21-year-old won the prestigious Heisman Trophy, the annual award given to the best player in college football that year.

Kyler Murray has declared for the 2019 NFL Draft.

Drafted last June in the first round as the ninth overall pick, the outfielder signed with Oakland for $4.66 million.

While some looked at Murray as a potential breakout star in the sport, his run to the Heisman Trophy surpassed even the boldest of expectations and vaulted him onto the radar of National Football League teams.

There are few people in the world who have lived the choice Kyler Murray was and is up against: Major League Baseball or NFL.

This Sports Authority is not about whether Kyler Murray should play baseball or football. The most obvious concern is that he's too short and frail to play the position in the NFL. Beane joked with super agent Scott Boras - who represents Murray - about the prized prospect committing to 15 years with the A's, who reached the playoffs for the first time since 2014 before losing the AL wild-card game to the Yankees and the franchise is preparing to build a new ballpark near the popular Jack London Square neighborhood of the city.

Sanders went on to say that he has regrets that he didn't "give it more" in his time in Major League Baseball.

"Life won't allow him to".

One player who thinks so is last year's draft stud, running back Saquon Barkley, who believes Murray will be a great pro and any team that gets him will benefit. The A's agreed to let him continue playing football, and he made the most of it by winning the Heisman in his only season as a starter for the Sooners.

But is he really THAT good at both sports?

He will need to make up his mind soon.

Even though he declared for the NFL, Murray still has the option to report to spring training with the A's, but it would have a heavy overlap with the NFL combine. NFL QBs such as Aaron Rogers and Matt Ryan each earn more than $30 million a year and are signed to multi-year deals with the Packers and Falcons. The average length of an NFL player's career is between three and six years.

And before you ask, the chances of him doing both are pretty slim.
