Democrats Throw up their Hands in Frustration as AOC Rages On

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez

Last week, Lieberman told FOX Business that Ocasio-Cortez, who defeated incumbent Democrat Joe Crowley in a major upset past year, is too "different" and "controversial" for the party.

Reacting to Lieberman's comments, the 29-year-old lawmaker tweeted: "New party, who dis?" Millennials often use such a response to avoid unwanted conversations through text messages by pretending they have no idea who is trying to them.

Republicans jumped on the revelations, telling the newspaper that the episode reveals "hypocrisy at its finest" by Ocasio-Cortez.

"A bartender from the Bronx has been able to create a litmus test around climate and economic policy for every 2020 Democrat", said Waleed Shahid, who was one of Ocasio-Cortez's early campaign advisers and is now communications director for Justice Democrats, a liberal activist group. "We only have two major political parties in America".

Vocal critics of the approach say it's an expensive clone of socialized medicine systems found in Canada, Scandinavia and elsewhere.

Despite Ocasio-Cortez' telegenic approach to self-promotion and her social media star power, Democratic House leaders have sought to sideline her in practical ways that could limit the public's exposure to her less mainstream views.

'More, please, ' a Republican Senate aide told DailyMail.com on Friday. And establishment Democrats are beginning to become annoyed with her.

Veteran Democratic members suspected Ocasio-Cortez was behind a siable online campaign to convince Speaker Nancy Pelosi to give her the plum appointment. Back home in NY, she has stoked opposition to a deal with Amazon to set up offices in Queens, putting pressure on Gov. Andrew Cuomo and Mayor Bill de Blasio, both Democrats, to justify corporate incentives.

Recently Ocasio-Cortez told Politico that she wasn't interested in backing progressive candidates against incumbent Democrats, insisting that she's "focused on my job".
