Monaco, managed by Fabregas's former Arsenal team mate Thierry Henry, are struggling second from bottom of the Ligue 1 standings ahead of a crunch game against neighbours Olympique de Marseille on Sunday.
Spanish midfielder Cesc Fabregas has completed his move to French team AS Monaco from Chelsea, the clubs said on Friday (Jan 11).
"It is a great pleasure to join Monaco, it is a new project for me". I'm here to help the team.
"The group is quality with young players and a young coach".
Fabregas leaves Stamford Bridge after a four-and-a-half-year spell that saw him play a key role in two Premier League title triumphs and win the FA Cup and the League Cup.
The 2010 World Cup victor has penned a three-year deal with Monaco, who has been struggling in the French top flight this season. "I am very excited".
After starting out with Arsenal as a roaming attacking midfielder with a clinical eye for goal and a deft pass, Fabregas moved into a deeper-lying position over the years where his vision of the game and outstanding passing range helped him to remain influential in games with Chelsea.
Cup matches have offered Fabregas the main chance to impress under Maurizio Sarri, with Jorginho's arrival in the summer forcing Fabregas down the pecking order in terms of midfield places.
With both Leandro Parades and Nicolo Barella being closely linked with the club, Chelsea must be confident that Fabregas' void will be filled in the coming weeks.
"But we are convinced that his experience at the highest level will bring a lot to our players on and off the field".
