Bulls trade Justin Holiday to Grizzlies for picks, players

Players and coaches then gathered for a team meeting that turned physical with an altercation between veterans Garrett Temple and Omri Casspi, according to multiple reports.

The Memphis Grizzlies will be looking to extend their recent dominance over the Detroit Pistons when the clubs meet for the first time this season on Wednesday night in Tennessee.

Head coach J.B. Bickerstaff tried his best to downplay the incident to reporters after the fact, characterizing it more as a conversation between two players that was somehow productive.

Bickerstaff didn't say much about what happened behind the closed doors, though he did say they weren't discussing specific gameplay issues.

When the Memphis locker room finally opened up to the media, only Mike Conley and Marc Gasol remained.

Frustrations are high for the Grizzlies, who have lost 10 of 13 games and sit in 10th place in the Western Conference at 18-19 following a promising start to the season. "Right now, it's not X's and O's that need to be resolved". The Grizzlies also lost on the road against the Houston Rockets on New Year's Eve, and last Saturday, they blew a 19-point lead in a home defeat to the Boston Celtics. "I think all of us as a group obviously frustrated with the situation".

Temple scored seven points on 2-of-8 shooting against the Pistons while Casspi went scoreless in just five minutes played. Dillon Brooks finished with 14 points off the bench as the Grizzlies dropped their third straight.

"When that win is within reach you know, you get a little extra boost", Griffin said of playing down the stretch. Drummond recorded a pair of double-doubles (14 points, 15 rebounds; 12 points, 18 rebounds).

While it may seem like a low point, Bickerstaff said it's how they respond and bounce back that will determine how the rest of the season plays out.
