Abducted Wisconsin Teen Jayme Closs Was Found By Retired Social Worker

Gordon Wisconsin. Nutter walking her dog near the cabin she owns with her husband Forrest on January 10 encountered Jayme Closs coming out of nearby woods

He was jailed on suspicion of kidnapping and homicide. Police say he was out on the streets looking for Jayme after she escaped.

Naiberg, Jayme's grandfather, said he spent a few hours with her on Friday. The girl's grandfather, Robert Naiberg, insisted Saturday that none of them know him, raising questions about how Patterson became aware of Jayme.

"He didn't know Jayme, he didn't know (her parents) Denise or Jim", Naiberg said. "(Jayme) don't know him from Adam.

"It's a bad feeling when you don't know where your kid is but I don't know how I would react if I was to have mine walk through that door". We had too much love and support around us for us to give up, ' her aunt said.

Barron County district attorney Brian Right said he planned to file a criminal complaint against Mr Patterson next week.

Patterson, who is unemployed with no criminal record, was scheduled for an initial court appearance on Monday when homicide and kidnapping charges are expected to be filed. It's wild country; roadside signs admonish motorists to share the pavement with ATVs.

Jake Patterson, 21, allegedly shot and killed Jayme's parents.

Investigators are trying to determine how Jayme escaped from Patterson's home, Fitzgerald said.

"We still are serving the search warrant on the (Patterson) residence in Gordon, collecting evidence, bringing it back either here to the sheriff's department or to the Wisconsin State Crime Lab". Neighbour Daphne Ronning told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that the parents moved away but that Patterson and his older brother, Erik, continued to stay in the cabin.

Elizabeth Smart - who was abducted aged 14 in 2002 in Utah and held captive for nine months - said in an Instagram post: "No matter what may unfold in her story let's all try to remember that this young woman has SURVIVED". Patricia Osborne told the Star Tribune that the suspect had gotten into trouble before. First, to celebrate her homecoming but also realize she will need time and space to adjust to life after what she's been through. Her abduction led to a search that ended Thursday when she was found alive - and Patterson was arrested - about 70 miles from her home.

The news that Jayme was safe set off joy and relief in her hometown of Barron, population 3,300 and about 60 miles (100 kilometers) from where she was found.

It shows her with Jennifer Smith, one of Closs' aunts, and the girl's dog Molly.

The Kasinskas said Jayme's emotions were "pretty flat" while they waited for the police and she refused offers of food and water.

Detectives will keep talking to Jayme, but at her own pace, to get more details to help in their investigation.

Smart called Closs courageous, strong, and a powerful survivor - but also says there is a long road ahead.

Jayme's aunt, Sue Allard, told the Star Tribune: "It's the news we've been waiting on for three months".

Jayme told one of the neighbours in Gordon who took her in that she had walked away from a cabin where she had been held captive. "She did not talk about why or how. We know he lived in that house alone", he said.

Fitzgerald said investigators believe Patterson killed Jayme's parents and then abducted her. Fitzgerald hasn't said whether Jayme was sexually assaulted but said Saturday that investigators believe Jake Patterson acted alone.

"I know all of you are searching for the answer why any of this happened", Fitzgerald said.
