Nokia 8.1 to launch in India today: Expected price, specifications

For software, the phone runs on Android 9.0 Pie operating system and is backed up by a 3500mAh battery with fast charging support.
It sports a 6.18-inch full-HD+ (1080x2244 pixels) display with a 18.7:9 aspect ratio, 81.5 percent screen-to-body ratio, HDR10 support, 500 nits peak brightness, and is capable of a 96 percent colour gamut. It is powered by Qualcomm's new octa-core Snapdragon 710 SoC clocked at 2.2GHz, coupled with 4GB of LPDDR4x RAM and runs on Android Pie. The handset follows the same glass design with notch display as the recently launched Nokia 7.1 as well as the Nokia 5.1 Plus and Nokia 6.1 Plus.

The Nokia 8.1 price in India is Rs 26,999 and the handset comes in only one configuration, 4GB RAM + 64GB storage.

One can expect HMD Global to price Nokia 8.1 in India, alongside the price of either Europe, Middle East market somewhere around Rs 30,000.

Nokia 8.1 will go on sale from December 21 and it will be available on Amazon and the Nokia India mobile website.

For photography, the phone gets a dual 12-megapixel (f/1.8) + 13-megapixel sensors on the rear with dual LED flash. The lens of the rear camera is made by ZEISS. The secondary sensor will offer depth sensing.

Apart from it there will be inbuilt 64GB internal storage which can be extended up to 400GB using microSD. The Nokia 8.1 bears an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, digital compass, gyroscope, and proximity sensor.

Coming to the camera specifications, the Nokia 8.1 has a 20 MP selfie shooter and it comes with pixel binning. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, VoWiFi, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, FM radio, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and USB Type-C port. It features a fingerprint sensor on the rear panel.

Nokia 8.1 is created to perfection with 6000-series aluminium frame, curved glass, two-tone design and diamond cut edges to serve as a sturdy companion. It packs a big 3400 mAH battery. The presence of the Snapdragon 845 in place of Snapdragon 855 could also guarantee a slightly lower price, a factor that could facilitate the spread of the new smartphone. To recall, the Nokia 7 Plus was launched in India at Rs 25,999. It features a single speaker design, and also comes with a smart amp, 2 mics, and Nokia Ozo surround capture.
