Milwaukee Bucks trading Matthew Dellavedova back to Cleveland Cavaliers

The Cavaliers will receive guard Matthew Dellavedova, centre John Henson, a 2021 first-round pick (from the Bucks) and 2022 second round pick (from the Wizards), while forward Sam Dekker will head from the Cavaliers to the Wizards.

Another popular Cavaliers player is coming "home".

Two reports indicated National Basketball Association forward Sam Dekker was being traded from the Cleveland Cavaliers to the Milwaukee Bucks. The Bucks will get veteran point guard George Hill and forward Sam Dekker from the Cavs, a person familiar with the deal told the Associated Press.

Washington trades Jason Smith and a second-round pick to Milwaukee. Dekker is now dealing with a sprained ankle that has sidelined him for a month, but he was converting on 38.4 percent of his 3-point attempts before the injury. The acquisition of Dellavedova is icing on the cake, considering he was a major fan favorite who helped lead the franchise to their lone National Basketball Association title in 2016.

Dellavedova spent his first three seasons in a Cavs uniform and was a part of the team's memorable 3-1 Finals comeback against the Golden State Warriors.

Henson recently underwent surgery to fix a torn ligament in his left wrist. Dellavedova, 28, has been limited to 12 games this season due to an ankle injury and is averaging a career-low 1.7 points. Hill is averaging 10.8 points per game, three assists and two rebounds per game this season on 51 percent shooting. With the Cavs rebuilding and playing rookie Collin Sexton a lot, there was no point to have Hill on the roster.

For the Bucks, this is a salary-clearing situation as they'll save $18 million in cap space for the 2019-20 season.
