Singer Mika Singh detained in UAE over sexual harassment charges: Report

Reportedly, the singer has been accused of sending inappropriate photographs to a 17-year-old Brazilian girl.

Sources informed Gulf News that Mika Singh sent the teenager indecent photos along with promising her a job in a Bollywood film.

He is now lodged at the Muraqqabat police station and taken into custody. He performed at the awards event and it was followed by a private party. After the arrest, his several friends are trying to release him from the jail.

In 2016, a Mumbai-based model had filed a complaint of molestation against the singer, while Mika had lodged a counter-complaint against her alleging extortion. Questioning is underway, a member of the singer's team confirmed. The complaint has been registered against him in the Muraqqabaat police station.

News agency ANI quoted Suri as saying that Mika was released following the Indian embassy's intervention 11.30 pm.

According to news reports, Singh has also been questioned by the authorities following his detention.

Mika had taken to his Instagram account to share that he will be performing in Dubai.

He has been accused of forcibly kissing the Bollywood's controversial actress Rakhi Sawant.
