Full Game Recap: Celtics VS Rockets | Harden Goes Off For 45 Points

James Harden

Kyrie has the best +/- rating on the Celtics at +6, but he only took 13 shots in this game which doesn't seem almost enough.

The Rockets already are without star point guard Chris Paul, who's nursing a left hamstring injury.

Led by Harden's superb scoring ability, the Rockets have won eight of their last nine games. Trailing 50-33, Boston used a 22-7 run to end the half, aided by three technical fouls against the Rockets in barely a minute, to cut the lead to 57-55 on Marcus Smart's 3-pointer.

The Celtics have been on a roll as of late, winning 10 of their last 13 games and look to keep this up against Houston. With Paul out, newly signed Austin Rivers will have more of an opportunity on the court. Harden has been electric this season, averaging 32.3 points per game.

Unfortunately for Irving, all that good karma didn't follow him and the Celtics to the Toyota Center, as the Rockets came out victorious 127-113.

The Celtics' matchup with the Rockets is the first in a three-game Western Conference road trip following their Christmas Day win over the Philadelphia 76ers.

Boston and Houston will face off on TNT.

As far as James Harden is concerned, the NBA's Most Valuable Player award won't be changing owners in 2018-19.
