CNN office evacuated due to bomb threat - anchor
Police closed off 58th Street, where the Time Warner building housing the CNN headquarter is located.
Initial reports conflicted about the precise time of the bomb threat itself, raising questions about whether Trump's tweet might have instigated the attack.
Just two months ago, bombs were sent to the CNN, as well as top Democrats like Barack Obama and the Clintons. Police units then swept the building with the NYPD bomb squad on standby.
A preliminary search by security found nothing, and the NYPD was conducting a search as a precaution, the police official said.
"It's kind of a repeat situation of what we went through in October", Lemon said on CNN.
"We were evacuated in the middle of my live show", Lemon tweeted.
A day later they were evacuated again due to a suspicious package that was later declared as safe.
"Due to the threat, the office has been evacuated", Stelter tweeted shortly after 10:30 p.m. It is unclear whether the threat was directed at CNN or another location close by.
News of the threat was communicated earlier on Twitter by CNN anchor Brian Stetler.
CNN was also evacuated in October after a package with an explosive device, addressed to former CIA Director John Brennan, was discovered.
