Trump Unleashes New Attacks on Russia Probe

House Democrats target Whitaker's involvement in 'scam' company

He predicted universities will someday study what Mueller and his "gang of Democrat thugs" have done to destroy people.

Left open yet, however, is whether Trump will sit for an interview with Mueller for further questioning about the collusion allegations and whether Trump, as president, obstructed justice by trying to thwart the probe.

Trump's legal team has asked him to refrain from criticizing Mueller and the Russian Federation investigation on Twitter, and the president laid off in the period before the November midterm elections.

The president has frequently lashed out at the probe led by special counsel Robert Mueller into Moscow's interference in the 2016 United States elections and whether there was collusion by the Trump campaign. Check out how biased Facebook, Google and Twitter are in favor of the Democrats.

But it was unclear what may have motivated Trump's messages on Thursday morning.

Elie Honig, a former federal prosecutor for the Southern District of NY, speculated to Bertrand that "prosecutors had some sort of "time to get real" conversation with someone implicated in the investigation, which was then relayed to Trump by defense attorneys".

There's also the possibility that the president knows something new - either passed along from his lawyers or allies under investigation, or from his newly appointed acting attorney general, who the New York Times referred to in September as the White House's "eyes and ears" in the justice department. "I think he's got the background and the judgment to be able to fulfill this job".

Napolitano said the statutes governing the appointments of deputy attorneys general were changed in the 1960s because their roles evolved to the point where "we put too much power in their hands".

Trump has repeatedly criticised Mueller and called the investigation a hoax. Elijah Cummings of Oversight, Jerry Nadler of Judiciary, Adam Schiff of Intelligence and Frank Pallone of Energy and Commerce - suggest the committees are preparing, at least initially, to jointly investigate targets that multiple panels are interested in.

A team of investigators led by Mr Mueller is looking into whether anyone from Mr Trump's campaign colluded in the effort.

As for the Democrat-media "collusion", prior to downloading on Mueller, Trump smacked the "FAKE NEWS MEDIA" for looking for ways to report on his administration in an unflattering light.
