O'Rourke optimistic while casting ballot; Cruz confident after voting early

San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich said he would support Beto O’Rourke in his Senate race against Ted Cruz

First, Triumph visited the O'Rourke camp, where he mocked the candidate's attempt at punk music in the 1990s.

When asked why she chose to support O'Rourke at the polls, Aguirre told the reporter, "Because he represents everything that Donald Trump isn't". Triumph jokingly suggests that voters of color should "act more white" by dropping The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel into conversation, and mentioning Ed Sheeran as much as possible.

The last time we saw Triumph the Insult Comic Dog in action, in a 2016 Election special from back when we thought that comedy mattered, he was lamenting the fact that he couldn't get an interview with Ted Cruz. "Because we think [O'Rourke is] pretty important".

'Does it concern you that half your base thinks they can vote through Instagram?', Triumph asks, drawing a laugh out of the Democrat. He finishes the interview by saying, "what does Ted Cruz have that you don't have, aside from the ability to regenerate his tail?"

All eyes are on the Texas Senate race, and even late night hosts are getting involved. You can see Beto trying (and failing) not to laugh.

Triumph then asked voters if they were impressed by the way Ted has forgiven Donald Trump, and "if Ted loses do you think he'll end up back with his first love, that mute lady from The Shape of Water, because he's a ugly fish monster!" One topic of discussion was the recent reports of voting machines switching people's votes from O'Rourke to Cruz.

Triumph finally gets his long-awaited face-off with Ted Cruz, who tried to hold his own against the insult comic dog.

"You can't ignore me, Ted", Triumph says in the crowd as he nears Cruz.

'I support spaying and neutering, just like Trump did to you!', Triumph quipped.
