Fossil's latest Wear OS smartwatch adds longer battery life for $255

Fossil launches Fossil Sport, a Wear OS smartwatch running the Snapdragon 3100 - GSMArena.com news

Fossil's first smartwatch based on Qualcomm's Snapdragon Wear 3100 platform was launched today as the Fossil Sport, boasting an ultra-lightweight design and a wide range of color choices, some of which are now available for purchase online from the watchmaker's official website.

With Wear OS receiving a redesign back in September, a few manufacturers have been looking to leverage the OS in new devices. Fossil's own sub-brands are even guilty of this.

Integrating the 3100 chip means that the watch's battery life is expected to last over 24 hours when it's in "smartwatch mode" and it lasts over two days when set to watch-only mode. Further, the new Fossil Watch Sport is swim-proof. The new guy has built-in Global Positioning System functionality in addition to heart rate tracking and NFC support for wrist payments, with the latter two features present on the Versa as well.

Finally, you'll be looking at a 1.2-inch AMOLED display with a 390 x 390 resolution. The watch comes in two sizes - 41 and 43mm - and six different color options.

The Fossil Sport will retail for $255 and will be available at retail stores around the world starting November 12th.

I think Fossil is offering a pretty compelling package at this price point, especially considering the hardware and newer chipset.
