Eddie Jones Gives Update On Tuilagi, Lawes And Curry Availability

Eddie Jones is hoping Tuilagi is fit to face the All Blacks

Tuilagi has made the 25-man squad for Saturday's Quilter worldwide against the All Blacks at Twickenham after recovering from a minor groin strain.

Eddie Jones says England are "cautiously optimistic" that Manu Tuilagi will recover from a groin strain in time to face New Zealand at Twickenham this weekend.

The 27-year-old was due back in the worldwide arena last weekend but he was withdrawn from England's squad on the eve of their 12-11 win over the Springboks because of a groin strain.

'I was gutted when he pulled out, but it was a tiny niggle.

"We won't risk him, he's either 100 per cent fit or he's not".

"What we've got to do is make sure we play like England, do everything we can to maximise our game, look at areas where New Zealand are weak and see if we can find a way to expose those weaknesses", he told BBC Sport. It settles down the boys to know that he's there'. I'm really please he's able to get back out there.

He was set to make his first global appearance since 2016 against the Springboks after recovering from serious groin, knee and hamstring injuries, only for his groin to tighten up.

"One thing about the All Blacks is that you are going to have to score tries".

Courtney Lawes is available having overcome a back problem that forced him to miss the same match so he takes Elliot Stooke's place among the 25 who will remain at the squad's Surrey training base.

"Tom injured his ankle and we don't how long he'll be out for, but he won't be back for our next three Tests", Borthwick said.

'So having guys like him and other guys is vital because you need guys that are going to be game changers or game-breakers and he's certainly one of those guys, so he's going to be important if he's involved'.

Co-captain Owen Farrell - who kicked England to victory against the Springboks - will also feature after avoiding a suspension for his late tackle on Andre Esterhuizen, the fly-half not cited by World Rugby.
