Ariana Grande named 2018 Billboard Woman of the Year

Is Ariana Grande Rebooting the First Wives Club Reboot?

Ariana Grande has shared an emotional message about dealing with a series of hardships following the Manchester Arena attack previous year, her failed engagement with ex Pete Davidson, and the death of her former boyfriend Mac Miller.

Grande chose to channel the classic musical number from "The First Wives Club", wearing bridal white alongside her two backup singers to resemble the film's stars Bette Midler, Goldie Hawn and Dianne Keaton.

She moved into more emotional territory as the song progressed, holding back tears while singing about her future wedding day.

Billboard has named Ariana Grande its 2018 Woman of the Year.

At one point, she climbed on top of a chair and almost fell on her way down.

So far in Ariana's career, she's held the #1 spot on the Billboard 200 chart three times and her August album release Sweetener pulled in the largest streaming numbers by a female pop album ever. She finished the performance with a smile, and danced down the aisles of the set while the audience cheered. The song begins, "Thought I'd end up with Sean / But he wasn't a match / Wrote some songs about Ricky / Now I listen and laugh / Even nearly got married / And for Pete, I'm so thankful / Wish I could say "thank you" to Malcolm / 'Cause he was an angel". This September, her ex-boyfriend Mac Miller, died of an accidental overdose caused by mixing drugs and alcohol.

Though she had a minor fall and teared up during a verse about her parents' estranged relationship, the singer handled it like a pro. "Oh my god!" she screamed before quickly getting herself together and continuing the song.

"I thought we were supposed to exit", Grande says, apologizing for the mishap.

"Yeah, you left me!"

Asked whether he learnt anything from the fellow singer following their romance, he added: 'It was a long time ago, so I suppose you just grow as a person.
