Pixel 3 vs Pixel 3 XL, Which One Should You Buy?

Samsung is trolling Google over the notch on its new Pixel phone

Google updated one of their Pixel Buds support pages yesterday to note that "Google Translate is available on all Assistant-optimized headphones and Android phones", where it used to say "Google Translate on Google Pixel Buds is only available on Pixel phones".

Samsung has launched a few sly digs at the brand new Google Pixel phone on Twitter. The feature was demoed on the Pixel 3 during Google's annual hardware keynote, and again many believed, it would be a Pixel 3 exclusive, to begin with. This is what sets Google apart from competitors like Apple and Samsung.

If you're in the market for a new phone, how do the two devices stack up?

Hi, folks - Isaac here from the Pixel Camera engineering team.

Via Reddit, we're pointed to a quick test that was posted on Twitter by a blogger the day after Google's Pixel 3 event. In comparison, the iPhone XS offers a 5.8-inch display and tips the scales at 176 grams. The Pixel Stand comes in at a hefty $80 compared to the Pixel 3's included wired charger which is, of course, free.

As its previous models, the Pixel 3 features a Pixel imprint and an active edge. That said, Google packed in some impressive new features and capabilities to make them nearly Pixel ideal. If you are thinking to buy one of these two phones but not sure which one to buy, keep reading.

The Pixel 3 comes in "just black", "clearly white", and "not pink". The iPhone XS does away with the Touch ID fingerprint scanner in favor of a facial recognition security system.

The Pixel 3 runs a stock version of Android 9 Pie straight out of the box.

Google has baked it now famous AI into the cameras on the Pixel 3 in a more wholesome way than we've seen before.

Both devices have high-end rear cameras - but the Pixel 3's is probably better.

"Night Sight" is an alternative to using your flash in low-light situations. If Google's presentation is to be believed, it will make photos much brighter and clearer. Top Shot takes a burst of photos and then selects the group selfie where everyone is looking at the camera and smiling.

It also has its own iPhone-style Portrait mode, which allows you to alter the depth of field and even the focus point after taking the shot, so you can adjust the level of blur in the background and the foreground - take that, Apple. The main highlights of these devices are the camera features. The cameras, too, are similar, including the dual front-facing shooters. There's also an optional keyboard attachment (£189) and Pen stylus (£99), while the Slate itself starts at £549 - more than £200 less than the similarly sized iPad Pro.
