Mr. Rogers Movie Crew Member's Cause of Death Revealed

Two-time Oscar®-winner Tom Hanks portrays one of America’s most cherished icons Mister Rogers on the set of Tri Star

Emmy-winning James Emswiller, who has worked on films such as The Avengers and The Fault In Our Stars, appeared to fall from a balcony in Mount Lebanon, Pennsylvania, during a mid-shoot break, according to police. Jim was an important, valued, trusted member of our group."He heralded the collaborative efforts of all the crew members and Emswiller's contributions adding, "It takes a lot of people to make this happen here in Pittsburgh, to get this work here, and he is going to be greatly missed".

The film is not strictly a biopic about the TV star's life, but tells the story of Rogers' relationship and adventures with journalist Tom Junod, and is based on Junod's 1998 Esquire profile on the beloved icon.

Emswiller was alone when he fell off the balcony.

A nurse on the set attempted to assist him. By the time EMTs arrived, Emswiller was in full cardiac arrest.

Mount Lebanon Police Chief Aaron Lauth said Emswiller was transported to the University of Pittsburgh's medical center. "He was taking a break and smoking a cigarette when he fell".

The man, whose identity was not immediately available, fell a couple of stories to the ground from the balcony at an apartment building in the 700 block of Shady Drive East. He was a member of the sound crew.

Down the street, a local dining spot called Hitchhikers Brewery is where a bunch of people were eating and they saw and heard the commotion.

Emswiller, who won an Emmy in 2015 for outstanding sound mixing for a limited series or movie for his work on Queen Latifah's "Bessie", has nearly 80 credits to his name.

The film is now slated for release October 18, 2019.
