Mom’s disastrous ‘This is MY son’ tweet turns into hilarious meme

Mom mocked for accusing 'radical feminists' of making her son too scared to date

'He graduated #1 in boot camp. I'm a proud Navy vet, cat dad and ally.

And there was a bit of praise for all the creativity of display on social media: "Twitter, your meme game is on point". "I love my mom to death, but boy".

"I was dumbfounded when I saw it, but at the end of the day we all have insane parents", Hanson, a student at the University of Central Florida, told BBC.

The woman posted some politically charged statements in her message, claiming her son avoided going on dates alone with women for fear of being falsely accused of sexual assault.

The hashtag #HimToo was spawned by supporters of Brett Kavanaugh amid the USA politician's Supreme Court hearing regarding allegations of sexual assault - a reaction to the #MeToo movement.

What his mom wrote " doesn't represent me at all", he said. Oh, and that Pieter "does go on solo dates".

Instead, Twitter users turned her post into a copypasta.

Either way, it doesn't sound like Hanson seems like the kind of guy who needs help from his mom getting dates.

Over the weekend, a woman who went by "BlueStarNavyMom3" tweeted a photo of a smiling, good-looking young man in a Navy uniform, posing for the camera. He was #1 in [the US Navy's technical school]. But it turns out the man behind the #HimToo meme actually supports the #MeToo movement, so he posted a parody of the photo his mom originally posted to explain his side of the story.

Pieter Hanson does not want to be the face of the #HimToo movement. I'm a mixture of laughing hard and feeling bad for him #HimToo", he wrote before adding, "My mom is insane.

Since his family's sudden 15 minutes of fame, Pieter Hanson has been tweeting out mostly jokes and pictures of cats - along with an appeal to, fittingly, turn #negativesintopositives.

- Monday night, 32-year-old Pieter texted the tweet to his brother, Jon, who like most brothers responded to the "ridiculous tweet" with laughter.

"He goes on dates", Hanson continued.

Hanson tweeted that he may be upset about the original post, but that he loves his mother. The hashtag started in 2015 as way of including someone in a shared activity, for example, one could post 'I'm Paddleboarding!' and include #HimToo to include the person they are sharing the experience with, but it began to morph into a more associative meaning.

"I'm trying to use this as an avenue to raise awareness for my little brother".
