The Mega Millions jackpot has reached $667 million, the largest in Mega Millions history.
According to a release from Mega Millions, the last Mega Millions jackpot was won July 24, netting 11 co-workers a combined $543 million. The numbers were 3, 45, 49, 61, 69 and Mega Ball 9.
Now, for a bit of a spoiler: A jackpot ticket was not sold in California, California Lottery officials said late Tuesday.
The $667 million is up for grabs in Tuesday's drawing. Jackpots start at $40 million, and other prizes pay from $1 million to $2 million or more with a Megaplier.
The largest Powerball jackpot was $1.586 billion, which was shared by winners in California, Florida and Tennessee in January 2016.
The Commonwealth's only Powerball jackpot winners hit a $217 million pot in 2013. The cash option is usually favored by almost all winners.
The largest jackpot in Mega Millions history was a $656 million prize that was shared by winners from Kansas, Illinois and Maryland in March 2012. The chance of matching all six numbers and taking home the grand prize is one in 302.5 million.
Mega Millions is played in 44 states as well as Washington, D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
An anonymous Mega Millions player who bought a ticket in La Plata, Maryland, in 2014, won a $207 million jackpot.
