'Making a Murderer' Season 2: Trailer for Netflix Series
The true crime series, which first aired in late 2015, explores the shoddy prosecution of Steven Avery and Brendan Dassey for the murder of Teresa Halbach, and its follow-up episodes will delve deeper into the saga of whether or not the pair was wrongly convicted.
The official trailer for Making A Murderer Part 2 has been revealed by Netflix, putting the focus on the post-conviction process and Steven Avery's new legal team. Familiar faces abound, but at the center of the narrative is Avery's attorney, Kathleen Zellner.
For the second season of the wildly popular show, Ricciardi and Demos had exclusive access to Steven Avery and his co-defendant and nephew Brendan Dassey, their families and the legal teams fighting for justice on their behalf.
Almost three years after season one made global headlines, Netflix has finally dropped the trailer for Making a Murderer season two. This time, prominent defense attorney Kathleen Zellner, who holds the US record for most overturned wrongful convictions, is on the case.
As well as all that, the new season will also cast a light on the post-conviction process in the United States, and the emotional toll it takes on all involved. A Wisconsin judge denied Avery a new trial in October, and a federal appeals court upheld Dassey's conviction in December.
Back in September, the streaming giant confirmed the Emmy Award-winning documentary series, which followed Steven Avery's journey in the much-talked-about first season, would be returning to the Midwest to continue the investigation with part two debuting on October 19.
