How Fortnite Tournaments Will Work In Game

Each of these scheduled sessions is a completely clean slate - all players will begin with the same score and compete over several hours of intense competition to earn as many points as possible.

Tournaments will feature a target score and players that achieve it will earn a special pin. During the tournament, the game's matchmaking will try to get you into games with players of a similar point count, meaning the better you do the more experienced opponents you'll be matched against.

"We've been observing the performance of controller players in our Summer Skirmish, PAX West, and Fall Skirmish tournaments while playing against mouse and keyboard players at the highest levels of competition", the statement reads. God help the touch players.

Just keep in mind to opt-in for cross-platform play if you want to compete in the tournaments. It will be followed by a duo tournament, and then a squad competition.

Description: Grab a friend and take on the world - until you are the last two left.

Lucas and Conter, therefore, are "creating unauthorized derivative works of Fortnite by unlawfully modifying the game's code, and materially altering the game that the code creates, the experience of those who play it, and the experience of those who watch it being played", Epic says in the lawsuit.

Tournaments will pit players from all platforms against each other, from PC to console to mobile devices, regardless of whether they use a regular controller, mouse & keyboard, or touchscreen controls.

Friday Night Fortnite is designed for squads.

These new Tournaments will be available for everyone to play, and Epic's official announcements page describing them a chance to "compete directly alongside the pros for prizes and glory".

Description: One week and three attempts to prove you're the saltiest that Salty Springs has to offer.

The developers also say that they are working towards developing an "exciting and varied" tournament schedule for players of all levels to enjoy around the world.
