Google Pixel 3, 3 XL will gain external microphone support

Google Pixel apps to have external microphones support

"Google Translate is available on all Assistant-optimized headphones and Android phones", where it used to say "Google Translate on Google Pixel Buds is only available on Pixel phones", the report noted.

Since the Google Pixel was first launched, it has been known to have one of the best camera technologies on a mobile device.

Some third-party Android camera apps like "Open Camera" have already allowed external microphones to record audio while creators and users recorded video using a Pixel device.

There's no word yet on which microphones will be supported. A Google employee has now directly confirmed that this changes on October 18th, the same day the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL debut.

With other companies developing headphones that support Translate, like the LG Tone SE neckbuds which arrived back in August, this was a natural step for Google to expand. Luckily, as consumers get their Google Pixel 3 smartphones this week, they will no longer deal with this issue.

Google's new Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL devices were revealed earlier this week, and to nearly no surprise the phones are ready to hold their title as having some of the best cameras around.

The 5.5-inch Pixel 3 and 6.3-inch 3XL will cost US$799 ($1220) and US$899, respectively. The Google Pixel 3 reportedly fell short in reclaiming the top spot.

The Pixel line-up is no slouch when it comes to shooting videos either, and can capture everything from slo-mo videos to 4K footage. "I hope you all enjoy the update", Isaac said. But earlier reports claim it will not be enough to beat the Huawei P20 series, which was given 109 - the highest score ever.
