It isn't ready to begin delivering the fixed 1809 update to most users yet (a test version is rolling out to its Slow and Release preview rings first), but a change that's already noticeable is in its Windows Insider Feedback Hub.

While new installations won't include the drivers by default, users who upgraded to Windows 10 October Update 2018 from an older version will still be able to use the drivers that are still installed. The company has released Windows 10 cumulative updates to several previous versions of the operating system, including the April 2018 Update, Fall Creators Update, Creators Update, and the Anniversary Update. Microsoft says that the majority of modern Wi-Fi printers are compatible with the Mopria standard.

Microsoft has now fixed this problem, and Windows 10's October 2018 Update should stop deleting these "old" folders full of files. Windows Insiders can get their hands on the updated release starting today, and Microsoft says it will "carefully study the results, feedback, and diagnostic data" from Insiders before continuing the public rollout.

As I had speculated earlier, the problem also occurred on some systems that used the relatively new Auto Save feature in OneDrive to relocate the contents of the Desktop, Documents, and Pictures folders to corresponding locations in the cloud. If there are still files in the "Documents" folder then you're not affected by the issue, according to another tweet from Sarkar.

Correcting the issue required three specific fixes, each of which you can read about in more detail in Microsoft's blog post.

Microsoft is also updating the Feedback app in Windows 10 to enable a new feature that would allow Insiders to provide an indication of impact and severity when filing feedback.
