Cardiff City - Premier League - 6 October 2018

Mauricio Pochettino and assistant manager Jesus Perez have been speaking to the media at a pre-match press conference this afternoon and they've given a team news and injury update including the latest on Jan Vertonghen, Dele Alli, Serge Aurier, Mousa Dembele, Christian Eriksen and Michel Vorm ahead of the game.

"The effort was fantastic and it was not easy after the defeat against Barcelona to be ready again to compete, but I think we competed well".

"But when 20 players surround you, all wearing a white shirt, all big-name players, I think it influences them at times and it would be interesting to see if he reports that". I think we need to improve a lot in our performance.

"I thought Mike Dean, experienced referee, was going to give a yellow card right from the start", Warnock told Sky Sports.

Eriksen is another key player that will miss the visit of Cardiff as the midfielder is working his way back from an abdominal injury and Spurs will also have to make do without Dembele once again as the Belgian global is still nursing a thigh injury.

"Mike Dean doesn't need influencing, he's a top referee", said Warnock.

"I don't think he needs to do that".

"England player going off like that, dear me".

"He went in and pushed him (Ralls) didn't he? He shouldn't take it out on us". "I'm sure the other team will say it was not, but we have to trust in our referees and that decision was one that we can agree or disagree on but it happened".

Pochettino said: "We're so disappointed with that. I don't know him in his life, but in football he's a manager I respect a lot".

Eric Dier's goal in the eighth minute was enough for Spurs to get back to winning ways, leaving Cardiff still in search for their first win of the season.

"But if we were in [Cardiff's] position, we would complain the same as them [about the red card]".
