Borderlands 2 VR Heading To PlayStation VR in December 2018

Borderlands 2 VR is available exclusively for the PlayStation 4 and is slated for a December 14 release date, just in time for the holidays. Gearbox will be bringing its critically acclaimed shooter-looter franchise to PlayStation VR later this year, giving fans of the franchise the opportunity to virtually step into the wild world of Pandora. To make up for this the development team have had to adjust several abilities and skills across the game's various classes.

Most apparent is the addition of a new bullet time feature, affectionately dubbed "BAMF Time".

We instinctively shuddered at the thought of navigating the game's weapon and loud-out menus with VR motion controls, but we're keeping an open mind for now.

A blog post on the PlayStation website also confirmed that Gearbox has updated the game's driving mechanics.

Borderlands 2 VR will seemingly offer everything the standard console game offers, including the 87 bazillion possible guns that will, no doubt, look awesome in the immersive first-person perspective.

There is one downside to all this though. Which kind of makes sense but is a bit of a downer.

Also, nothing is known about the upcoming Borderlands 3 as the studio is keeping it under the wrap for time being as the game was not showcased at E3 2018. If you pre-order now you can get an exclusive PS4 theme. One new feature is something Gearbox is calling BAMF (Bad Ass Mega Funtime). While some fans may be upset the developer is seemingly twiddling their thumbs and doing anything they can to avoid working on the next installment, hopefully, those looking to satisfy their Borderlands craving can do so with the PlayStation VR version. We're not sure how well that's going to work, and you may want to check that your insurance covers breakages via headbutts.

Thus, from December 14, you can go back to Pandora.
