Arrests made after Khabib beats McGregor

Conor Mc Gregor of Ireland laughs after the second round in their UFC lightweight championship bout during the UFC 229 event inside T Mobile Arena

Nurmagomedov jumped out of the cage before leaping feet first at McGregor's team mate and cornerman Dillon Danis, and three of the Russian's team were arrested and later released on a black night for a sport that has struggled to win mainstream acceptance for 25 years.

Meanwhile, other members of Nurmagomedov's crew have made their way inside the Octagon and it's at this point that they appear to retaliate by going after "The Notorious", who landed a punch on one assailant, but was sucker-punched from behind by another and then ate several punches against the cage before security staff intervened.

"We haven't seen anything so far that really says Conor McGregor can beat Khabib", he said.

In a recent Instagram post, Daniel "DC" Cormier had some kind words of praise and motivation for his fellow American Kick Boxing Academy teammate Khabib Nurmagomedov, ahead of his title defense against Conor McGregor at UFC 229. "We're regulated by the Nevada State Athletic Commission, or whatever state we're in. No one wants to be under that guy for any amount of time", Philips said. The Nevada State Athletic Commission is going to go after him, I'm sure, pretty hard.

Nurmagomedov vs. McGregor from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

After a lengthy delay, Nurmagomedov eventually addressed a media conference. "This is not my best side", he said.

The post-fight meleé has gained so numerous headlines but the fourth round finish will rankle McGregor for a while yet. He talk about my religion, he talk about my country, he talk about my father. Nurmagomedov applied a neck crank and, after a hesitant tap, McGregor relented and tapped out to signal he was done.

However, with 3 members from Khabib's camp under arrest for assault, the Nevada fighting commission investigating the post-match shenanigans to see whether Khabib is fined or worse denied his title all remain to be seen.
