Apple's iOS 12.0.1 update will fix charging issues and WiFi problems

Bigger and better for your eyes

Apple has finally fixed the freaky charging issues on its new iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max smartphones.

Apart from that, the update also fixes a couple of other issues, including a Wi-Fi issue where the iPhone XS would apparently connect to 2.4GHz instead of 5GHz band when rejoining.

Last week, we reported on an iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max charging bug that saw some handsets fail to receive power if plugged in while the display was asleep.

Apple has released an update for iOS 12 which fixes several bugs experienced by iPhone Xs and Xs Max users, The Verge reports. It may be recalled that many users who bought the new iPhone XS had complained that their phones would not charge when in sleep mode. If you've encountered charging or connectivity issues, you'll want to update your iPhone to iOS 12.0.1 now.

Additionally, iOS 12.0.1 also patches the security vulnerability discovered last week that may have allowed an attacker to bypass a passcode and view photos or contacts from the Lock screen using VoiceOver, according to Apple's security content page.

This update is a smaller one, as you might've guessed since it's an x.x.1 update, but there are still some notable bug fixes. "For example, the iPad keyboard will now show the ".?123" key in its original place; some apps which were having problems showing subtitles should also now be fixed.

Users can download the latest update by navigating to Settings General Software Update on their iPhone or iPad.
