Superman: Michael B. Jordan Reportedly Being Considered to Replace Henry Cavill

Henry Cavill will reportedly no longer play Superman in any Warner Bros. and DC movies

Scheduling conflict: The Hollywood Reporter write that Henry, who has played Superman in three films, can't commit to a planned cameo in Shazam!

Look, up in the sky.

It really continues to appear that the DC cinematic universe is falling apart.

Warner Bros.is going to need a new Superman, because The Hollywood Reporter brings word that Henry Cavill has stepped down from the role after negotiations with the studio fell through.

Word is Warner Bros is in the market for a couple of young guns to fill Aflleck and Cavill's rubber boots. However, when paired with a cryptic tweet from Cavill's manager, Dany Garcia, this could also be taken to mean that the report was made a little too soon, and Superman may not be done after all.

Meanwhile, the studio is also betting on the popularity of Harley Quinn, who was played by Margot Robbie in "Suicide Squad", according to the trades.

With its Supergirl plans, WB is said to be keen to shelve the character of Superman for a few years before a Bond style reboot with a new leading man.

Warner Bros. has been looking at different angles to take with future Superman installments and is now focusing on a Supergirl movie as the studio's top priority. This comes on the heels of the potential loss of Ben Affleck as Batman. Though far from a box-office bomb, it wasn't the Avengers-sized hit Warner Bros were hoping for. That movie would serve as an origin story, starring a teenage hero. Gal Gadot will reprise her role as "Wonder Woman" for the fourth time in "Wonder Woman 1984" set for 2019, Jason Momoa will headline "Aquaman" this December and Ezra Miller is reportedly still on board for a "Flash" movie due to shoot in 2019. Despite Fantastic Four not having a great script and feeling utterly jumbled, Jordan gave the role his all and gave a fiery performance, becoming one of the best parts of the movie.
