New iPhones worth the cost: Tim Cook

While it's Apple's nature to hide details (like sales figures) pertinent to its major product launches, savvy and well-connected analysts in the Far East have historically been able to offer reasonable estimates of how the company's new products are performing, even shortly after launch.

Apple's opening weekend pre-orders for the iPhone XS, XS Max and Apple Watch Series 4 are now done and analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has some insight as to what's hot and what's not.

The documents state the iPhone XS has a 2,658mAh cell inside, while the iPhone X had a 2,716mAh pack.

The iPhone XS Max now has shipping times of two to three weeks - shorter than what the iPhone X had at this point previous year but Kuo credits this to an improvement in the supply chain rather than diminishing interest.

Did Apple Make The iPhone XS Max Too Big For Women's Hands?

As a result, Kuo predicted the XS Max will account for roughly 25 to 30 percent of new iPhone shipments this year. Though Apple is calling it the largest phone it has ever made, keep the iPhone XS Max alongside an iPhone 8 Plus and you realise it is not exactly the largest Apple phone, just the largest screen on an Apple phone. That doesn't mean the new iPhone models don't deliver a bump in wireless performance.

Earlier this week, we saw the unveiling of three new iPhones - iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR along with Apple Watch 4 at the Apple Fall Event held in Cupertino.

As Apple gears up to start shipping its 2018 iPhone lineup to its loyal customers, one YouTube reviewer has already started receiving the gold variants of both the iPhone Xs Max as well as the iPhone Xs.
