Henry Cavill is Out as Superman in the DCEU!

Henry Cavill will reportedly no longer play Superman in any Warner Bros. and DC movies.

Superman is hanging up his red cape.

Justice League ended its theatrical run with a worldwide box office total of $657,924,295, meaning it stands as the lowest grossing film of the DC Extended Universe. According to The Hollywood Reporter, negotiations for Cavill to appear in a cameo in the upcoming connected feature "Shazam!" broke down due to scheduling conflicts with "Mission Impossible: Fallout".

Neither the studio nor Cavill has made an official statement yet, but according to the report the studio is shifting focus to a Supergirl movie, which will not require Superman.

The latest report also claims that WB is concentrating on the planned Supegirl movie, at the expense of Superman himself.

The eight-episode Netflix adaptation of the bestselling medieval fantasy book series by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski centers on the protagonist Geralt of Rivia, a monster hunter known as a "Witcher" who travels the countryside slaying terrifying beasts.

Cavill ultimately starred as Superman in three films: Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Justice League. The studio was apparently not looking to make a solo Superman film in the immediate future - instead looking towards a Supergirl origin story.

It's worth noting that other DC comics heroes that shared a screen with Cavill in the critically panned "Justice League" will continue with their characters.
