Bills stun Vikings 27-6 in rookie Allen's 1st road start

Bills win big in Minnesota defeat Vikings 27-6 win first game of the season

Allen dived to finish a 10-yard run by beating Anthony Barr to the edge of the end zone and scraping the pylon with the ball to finish the game's first drive. Thus, it was no surprise that he wasn't on the field for the Vikings' 27-6 loss to the Bills at U.S. Bank Stadium. He said that he has been hearing that from opposing players for years. Josh Allen looked like a seasoned veteran in his second career start, completing 15 passes for 196 yards and one touchdown.

The Minnesota Vikings entered Week 3 of the 2018 National Football League season without a loss on their record following a win against the San Francisco 49ers and a draw on the road against the Green Bay Packers. That run was followed quickly by a 55-yard catch and run by running back Chris Ivory, which set up a one-yard plunge from Allen for his second rushing score of the game. The pass rush was relentless at the start of the game with Jerry Hughes sacking Kirk Cousins and forcing another fumble that the Bills recovered.

Josh Allen is the fifth rookie quarterback since 1995 to win straight up as a two-touchdown underdog, and the first since Joe Webb led the Minnesota Vikings to a win over Michael Vick and the Philadelphia Eagles in 2010.

The Bills, including their playoff game, went the final eight games of last season without recovering a fumble.

At least the third-quarter interception by Cousins wasn't his fault. The Vikings didn't cross midfield until the fourth quarter and didn't score until there was 3:03 left in the game.

Vikings: In addition to Cook and DE Everson Griffen (knee), backup TE David Morgan (knee) and PR Marcus Sherels (ribs) were held out.

Bills: Play at Green Bay next Sunday.

One bettor at the Westgate Superbook was so sure of the Vikings win, he confidently placed $9,000 on Minnesota to win outright in an effort to win $450.
