Sony developing Jackpot and Silk movies for its Spider-Man universe

They see me rollin

We're talking about the Superior Spider-Man ... or as he's now conveniently called, the Superior Octopus. This may be why the report indicated that Sony is open to lending out more characters to the MCU, in exchange for a few guest appearances from Marvel's side of the universe. When Venom was first announced it was said to be R-rated, and its trailers definitely hint at violence that deserves the adult rating. Along with Morbius, Sony has brought in writer Richard Wenk (Equalizer 2) to start on a script that will cover one of Spider-Man's most famous foes, Kraven the Hunter. But like all those aforementioned spinoffs, Spider-Man's possible cameo really hinges on the success of Venom, with Sony hoping to deliver a dark and grisly rendition of Marvel's most famous anti-hero.

Sony's Venom movie is reportedly likely to have a PG-13 rating, rather than an R.

They believe Black Cat can stand on her own and will feature in her own film.

With the Silver & Black film getting scrapped it also means that writer and director Gina Prince-Blythewood could be leaving as well. Silver & Black are headed to the big screen, too, but they've since been redirected to individual solo movies. Adding a larger Marvel Universe spin to it raises the profile of the franchise significantly - as well as the inevitable confusion amongst casual moviegoers, who won't get all the particulars of why certain characters can't crossover, etc. Before Jake Gyllenhaal had been tapped as Mysterio for Spider-Man: Far From Home, I had been rooting like insane for Kraven to be the next Spider-Man movie villain. Whereas Marvel just rolls with the punches and sticks to the gameplan when some films are not as massively successful as others, I would not be surprised that if Venom flops when it releases in October, I'm going to be writing another one of these huge articles about how Sony's plans have changed yet again.
